Hannah Johnston is a writer and researcher, trained at Durham University and University College London and based in Greater London. Between 2012 and 2020, she was Assistant Curator at Tate Modern, London, where she organized exhi- bitions and displays of the work of Helen Frankenthaler, Richard Hamilton, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Dorothea Tanning, among others. During her tenure at Tate, she produced copious scholarly texts on works in the collection by a vast range of artists, including Lynda Benglis, Sam Gilliam, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, the Guerrilla Girls, Julie Mehretu, Lorna Simpson, and Hannah Wilke. Her book Tate Introductions: Georgia O’Keeffe was published in 2016.
